There's a claim that the only way to disable this is to disable auto updating entirely:

• press <WINDOWS><R> and type gpedit.msc
• then Computer configuration → Administrative templates → Windows components → Windows update → Manage end user experience
• Right click on Configure automatic updates and select edit.
• Select enabled
• Select 2 - Notify for download and auto install
• Click ok
